It's that time of year again. Christmas is just round the corner! Supermarkets and shops have had Christmas items out probably since 1st day of September. Now that it's November and Bonfire Night is out the way, it's feeling a little bleak. It's that dull 3/4 weeks of waiting for December to start, where it feels WAY too early for any decorations, but you wanna do SOMETHING to cheer your home up! I've got a 3 simple ways you can brighten those miserable November evenings at home without having to hang up a single decoration!
Candles are such a great way to feel warm & cosy. These are my favourite 3 Yankee Candles that give you a little fuzzy warm feeling, with a hint of Christmas without being over the top:
Red Apple Wreath: Warm, festive & welcoming scent with hints of apples & cinnamon.
Christmas Eve: A much sweeter scent, with hints of warm orange, red berry & vanilla.
Cranberry Ice: Refreshing & sweet scent with hints of cranberry, orange & cherry.
Apple and berry scents are my all time favourites, and these have such a subtle festive that isn't too over the top (like gingerbread or candy cane, which are super festive)
Some great money-saving alternatives are the standard pillar candles you can pick up in any supermarket. You can them get berry or apple scented and when lit they make you feel super cosy.
Fairy lights are such a great way to brightening up a room without looking overly Christmassy. If you pick up the white or warm lights instead it can make such a cute feature! Our lights are wrapped around the spindles of our bannister on our stairs. Hallways can be quite dark and cold so adding lights can brighten it up nicely! We leave ours up all year round because it just looks so nice.
THROWS/BLANKETS
The ultimate way to get cosy in the evenings is covering yourself with a fleecy, fluffy blanket. The shops at the moment have loads of gorgeous, winter throws in all sorts of patterns and colours. I've opted for one with snowflakes as it's not overly Christmassy and can be kept out all winter. You could get something like plain orange or red checked throw if you think this is a little bit festive.
